Rangers International of Enugu attacker, Ibrahim Ajani is standing tall, after his goal at the weekend condemned Enyimba of Aba to defeat in The Coal City, footballlive.ng reports.
Ajani thanked God for making hit possible for him to score and admitted it was a relish for him being able to net thew goal that sank his former club in their latest Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) ‘Oriental Derby’ at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.
The all-action former Sunshine Stars of Akure hitman stressed that it also always tough playing against Enyimba, especially in a clash with any of their South-East rivals, hence his verdict that God made Saturday’s victory possible for The Flying Antelopes.
He added that the result was a huge relief for him and his teammates, as they had lost their previous match 1-0 away to MFM FC of Lagos, hence their determination to get things right back at home last weekend.
Ajani stated: “I am happy with the victory. I give thanks to Allah for making it possible.
“I am also happy that I scored the only goal. In fact, I am happy that I scored against my former club, Enyimba.
“They are a tough side to play against, I know them very well, but we were ready for them and we were determined to beat them.”
