Falconets striker, Rasheedat Ajibade was one of the top stars to shout about, as Nigerian Women Football League (NWFL) resumed, with seven matches played across the country, after a three month break.
Ajibade scored all four goals in FC Robo’s trouncing of Abia Angels at the Legacy Pitch of Lagos National Stadium, Surulere on Wednesday.
Ajibade looked sharp early on with a few good goal scoring chances but found it difficult to apply the necessary finish.
She found her charm later on after she was put through on goal and the forward made no mistake on that occasion giving her team the advantage on the stroke of half time.
With the visitors falling behind just before half time they tried to claw their way back in the second half but Ajibade struck thrice to complete her double brace against the girls from Abia and put the game beyond the visitors.
In Asaba, Delta Queens maintained their unbeaten run in the league with an impressive 3-1 home win over Heartland Queens who are yet to win a game in the league this season.
While games between Osun Babes and Sunshine Queens; Adamawa Queens and Nasarawa Amazons both ended in a barren draw.
League debutants, Jokodolu Babes lost 3-1 to Pelican Stars while a lone goal was enough for Confluence Queens to claim all three points against Edo Queens. Bottom of Group A, Sure Babes continue their unimpressive form losing by two goals to Bayelsa Queens at home in Ilorin.
The final game of matchday eight will be between unbeaten Ibom Angels and Rivers Angels on Thursday, after it was shifted by 24 hours.
