Akinkunmi Amoo Leaves Omonia Nicosia by Mutual Consent

Date:

Cypriot First Division club Omonia Nicosia has announced the termination of the contract with Nigerian winger Akinkunmi Amoo. The decision to part ways was mutually agreed upon due to personal reasons, leading to the early termination of the contract.

Amoo, a former Golden Eaglets winger, had joined Omonia Nicosia in September 2023, signing a three-year contract with the club. During his time with the Cypriot club, the 21-year-old made six appearances but did not find the back of the net.

The Nigerian player had previous stints with Hammarby IF in Sweden and FC Copenhagen in Denmark. Amoo gained recognition on the international stage as part of the Nigeria U-17 squad that participated in the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Tanzania. Later that year, he was also part of the team at the World Cup in Brazil.
