Akinyemi open to Ligue 1 move

Date:

FK Ventspils striker Adeleke Akinyemi is up for a move to the French Ligue 1, according to a top source close to the youngster.

According to the source in a chat with Footballlive.ng, the player’s likely switch to Spartak Moscow might not be feasible afterall.

Akinyemi has scored 20 goals in all competitions, including seven in the UEFA Europa League qualifying round.

The striker’s impressive performances has led to rumours of interest in his services.

Clearly not afraid of confrontation, Akinyemi may have to push his way out of Ventspils.

Ventspils would like him to stay, but he does know there is interest from the Ligue 1 and clubs in Eastern Europe.

“He likes the idea of coming to the Ligue 1 and would be happy to continue his progression there,” the source told Footballlive.ng.

“Although Ventspils expect an offer, it hasn’t arrived yet.”
