Daniel Akpeyi kept a clean sheet in Chippa United’s PSL match against Kaizer Chiefs at the FNB Stadium, to help his side earn a point.
Saturday’s match was Akpeyi’s 10th league appearance for the Chilli Boys this season and his four shut out.
The 32-year-old had conceded 10 goals this season, and not more than two in any match.
Akpeyi was named in Nigeria’s squad to face South Africa in next weekend’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
He has only manned the goal once for the Eagles in the 2019 AFCON qualifier; in Nigeria’s 2-0 defeat to South Africa in Uyo.
