Striker Chuba Akpom has started training with Greek vice champions PAOK Thessaloniki, just in time for the UEFA Champions League qualification first leg match with Spartak Moscow, which will be staged at the Stadio Toumbas next Wednesday.
On arrival at the team’s training ground in Thessaloniki, the Nigeria born striker was well received by his new teammates and the technical crew.
Akpom sealed his move to the Greek Super League side from Arsenal on Friday, ending his 16-year association with the Gunners with just 12 appearances under his belt.
The London-born striker failed to score in any competitive game for Arsenal – and made just four English Premier League appearances.
He has scored 20 goals in 44 encounters for England’s youth national sides. His performances for Sint-Truiden VV attracted the interest of various European clubs, with PAOK beating competition and securing his signature.
