Akwa United Football Club has officially announced the appointment of Mohammed Babaganaru as their new head coach.
Babaganaru, who previously managed Gombe United during the first half of the season, brings a wealth of experience and tactical expertise to his new role.
His primary objective will be to guide Akwa United in their quest to avoid relegation from the NPFL. Confirming the appointment, Bassey, a representative of the club, stated, “We took a while to contact a gaffer after the departure of coach Fatai Osho because we wanted one of the best.”
Bassey expressed gratitude to Babaganaru for accepting the challenge and emphasized the club’s determination to fight the drop.
Additionally, he acknowledged the contributions of coach Umar Abdullahi and his colleagues, who assisted during the transitional period.
Babaganaru’s first test at the helm will be against Doma United on Sunday, where he will aim to inspire his team, known as the Promise Keepers, to secure a vital victory in their battle against relegation.
