Akwa United Head Coach, Mohammed Babaganaru has praised his team for their positive performance in their recent victory over Kano Pillars.
The win comes as a significant boost in Akwa United’s bid to avoid relegation. Ubong Friday contributed with goals in each half, while super sub, Mubarak Said sealed the win with another goal.
“It’s a good thing that we have secured the victory we needed,” Babaganaru expressed in a post-match interview. “After our away defeat to Kwara, we came back and planned on how to win this game and we thank God that it worked out the way we planned.”
With six more matches remaining in the season, Babaganaru explained the importance of maintaining their current level of performance. He expressed his satisfaction with the team’s improvement and urged them to keep up their efforts to secure positive results in the upcoming games.
Akwa United currently sits 16th on the league table with 37 points from 32 games. Every match becomes crucial in their fight against relegation as the season ends.
