Akwa United Resumes Home Games at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium

Date:

Akwa United has received approval from the Nigeria Premier Football League board to resume hosting their home games at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

The Promise Keepers had temporarily adopted the Eket Township Stadium as their home ground earlier in the season, as the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium was unavailable due to hosting various international football events.

Now, with the approval from the NPFL board, Akwa United will return to their iconic home stadium starting with their match against champions Enyimba in the upcoming matchday 23 fixture.

The move is expected to boost the team’s morale and provide a familiar ground for their upcoming league encounters.

Akwa United currently holds the 18th position on the NPFL table with 21 points from 22 games.
