Akwa United head coach, Mohammed Babaganaru, is optimistic as his team participates in a friendly tournament in Bayelsa. After narrowly escaping relegation last season by finishing 16th on the league table, Babaganaru is focused on evaluating his squad’s readiness for the upcoming season.
“Presently, we are in Bayealsa playing a preseason tournament trying to assess the players and try to improve their fitness level, Babaganaru shared. I am satisfied with the commitment of the boys because we have so many young potentials in the team.”
While encouraged by the early signs, Babaganaru acknowledges there’s still work to be done. “For now, I cannot say anything about it because the boys are not fully ready for the competition. But we are working hard to see that we have put them in very good shape.”
As Akwa United looks to bounce back stronger this season, Babaganaru’s focus remains on developing his squad and unlocking the potential of his players.
