Alex Iwobi has offered his Arsenal teammates some golden nuggets if their hope of winning a major silverware this season must materialize.
Iwobi who has seen some massive improvements and won the confidence of new Boss Unai Emery, is downright confident the Gunners have a real shout for the Premier League title; but there’s one chink in the armour – The Defense.
Arsenal last won the Premier league crown fifteen seasons ago; the 2003-04, but the drought can come to an with a much improved collective defending by every player on the pitch, argued Iwobi.
So far this season, the Gunners have scored 24 goals; third best among the top four teams in the table, but they have also shipped in more than half that number.
Emery’s defense has been a little generous, conceding 13 goals in 10 matches and have the third worst defense of the teams in the top half of the table.
Speaking ahead of the Premier League clash against Liverpool at the Emirates, Nigeria international Iwobi insists the team must defend well collectively to compliment their lethal attack if the club’s title credentials must be seen as genuine.
‘We must defend better as a team and the Manager bangs on this a lot,’ the winger said.
