Striker Sikiru Alimi has spoken of the “great challenge” ahead of Lobi Stars in their CAF Champions League campaign.
The former Warri Wolves and Sunshine Stars forward got on the scoresheet as the Pride of Benue defeated UMS of Cameroon 2-0 to qualify 2-1 on aggregate for the first round.
Lobi Stars will face Gor Mahia in the next round of the money spinning competition.
Alimi believes the two legged games will be very tough but Lobi Stars will scale through the hurdle.
“I thought it couldn’t get more difficult than but we must expect anything as we bid to qualify for the group stage of the competition,” Alimi told Footballlive.ng.
“It’s a great challenge. I think we are the sort of team which gets better as the challenges get even greater. Games like this are why you are in the CAF Champions League.
“There won’t be any moments where we will be surprised. The motivation will be sky-high, the atmosphere great. I couldn’t think of a better way to play the Champions League.”
“We are ready for the challenges that would come our way in the games. Lobi Stars should go through for sure,” he added.
