Amaechi, Tola Bola Shine With Arsenal’s Youths

Date:

Arsenal’s under-23 squad had Xavier Amaechi and Tola Bola to thank for glorious assists that helped the side eke out a dramatic 3-1 win over Sunderland U23s in the Premier League 2.

Pacy winger, Amaechi set up Emile Smith Rowe for the first goal at Eppleton Colliery Football Ground after 24 minutes of Sunday’s match, before John Jules doubled the visitors lead 10 minutes later with a solo.

Elliot Embleton pulled one back four minutes after the hour mark to threaten a nervy closing but Bola had other ideas, teeing up John Jules for the third goal to make sure of the points and move the young Gunners joint-second with Leicester City in the youth division.

Folarin Balogun who started on the bench for Arsenal would come on for the last ten minutes after replacing two-goal hero, John Jules.

While Tobi Omole did not get any moment of action in the encounter, Amaechi and Bola were in action for the entire duration.
