Hibernian of Scotland defender, Efe Ambrose is still living a dream of getting a recall to the Super Eagles, and believes it will come ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
Although the former SC Ashdod of Israel and Celtic of Scotland versatile defender was not listed in the Eagles’ squad that was reeled out on Monday, he is staying upbeat for a call-up next time out.
Footballlive.ng gathered that Ambrose is hanging unto his new found form with Hibernian to see him scale all odds in getting a recall to Nigeria’s senior national team.
Ambrose says he will redouble his efforts with The Hibs and continue working hard in order to convince Eagles’ tactician, Gernot Rohr that he deserves a call up for the next AFCON qualifier against Seychelles in March as well as AFCON 2019 build-up matches.
Ambrose said: “I feel like I deserve a chance to stake a claim (to a Super Eagles’ recall) based on my form for Hibernian. I won’t stop working hard to ease the decision of handing me a recall.”
