Footballlive.ng takes an in-depth look at Super Eagles’ opponent in the matchday2 of the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.
The three-time AFCON champions will face Seychelles on September 7 after falling 2-0 to South Africa in their first match.
Both sides will trade tackles at the 10,000 capacity stadium, Stade Linité situated at Roche Caiman in the outskirts of Victoria, the capital of Seychelles.
Nicknamed “The Pirates” have never qualified for the AFCON in their football history. They lost 5-1 to Libya on matchday1.
Currently ranked 188th, Seychelles crashed out in the first round of the 2018 Cosafa Cup held in South Africa.
Not much is known about the Pirates and that is very much the danger-playing against an unknown quantity or dare I say quality?
As one facet of his current job, coach Gavin Jeanne has been actively seeking to help Seychelles players win transfers internationally where better exposure to the rigours of the modern game will turn them into better professionals and so better serve the cause of the national side.
His star players are Leroy Coralie, Elijah Lamboo, Warren Mellei and Gervey Samainadin.
