Anderlecht Fans Demand Onyekuru In Action

Date:

RSC Anderlecht striker, Henry Onyekuru has gained amazing support from the club’s fans, who have now sent a heated demand to their coach, Hein Van Haezebrouck to field the lad in their next game.

This comes after the coach’s decision to drop Onyekuru from their fixture at home against Standard Liege, for which Haezebrouck said the lad on loan from Everton had not fully recovered from a recent long-term injury.

However, the fans were amazed that Onyekuru was omitted from the game despite making the bench for their previous game over the weekend.

The fans are also worried with reports that there is an issue with both the player and the coach that led to his absence.

It is understood that the club are trying to force Onyekuru to remain with them next season, but he wants to play at the World Cup so he could secure a work permit that will see him play in a bigger league next season.

Onyekuru revealed to this medium earlier that he had been given the all-clear by the medical team to return to action three weeks ago, but still remains in shock that he has only featured for the reserve team during the period.

With Anderlecht now five points behind leaders Club Brugge, with just two rounds of matches left, it remains to be seen how both the club and management can handle the situation which could become ugly for both parties.
