Chelsea youth team striker, Faustino Anjorin missed the chance to celebrate his birthday with a goal and victory, as his side settled for a 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League 2.
A day before both London clubs’ senior squads battled out in an epic EPL derby, Anjorin also lined out for The Blues’ kids on his birthday, only to see his stretch of seven goals in same number of games come to an end.
Footballlive.ng gathered that Anjorin failed to hit bull’s eye with Chelsea youth for the first time in eight matches, as The Blues’ under-23 squad were held back by Tottenham on Friday evening.
Anjorin’s goal against Arsenal before he joined the England U18 camp saw him score in seven successive matches across all competitions.
The Nigerian-born rising star, though made a telling impact, as he got off the bench with 24 minutes left, at a point when Chelsea were behind 1-0, and his efforts helped them turn things around.
Anjorin was all energy and force, as The Blues searched for an equaliser and was joined on the pitch by fellow-Nigerian-born youngster, Tariq Uwakwe in the 77th minute.
However, Joe Edwards’s side had to wait until the 89th minute before Charlie Brown equalized against the visiting Spurs, who had Timothy Eyoma on for 90 minutes of the game.
