Arokodare Scores as Genk Comeback

Date:

23 year old sensation, Tolu Arokodare continued his goalscoring streak as he equalized for Genk in a 3-1 win over Molenbeek.

Arokodare got his 8th start in the league this season against the relegation battlers and it did not start out normally for Genk. Molenbeek got the first goal of the encounter in the 2nd via Carlos Alberto.

The home immediately started pushing for an equalizer to the early setback, and the Nigerian obliged in the 21st minute when he turned in a chance created by Bilal El Khannouss for his 8th league goal of the season.

Genk would head into the halftime with their noses in front as Luca Oyen completed the turnaround in the 35th minute.

The second half was a one way traffic as Genl did not let up, creating chances but did not make it stick for a majority of the second period. The settling goal came in stoppage time, as Andi Zeqiri turned home a Zakaria El Ouahdi assist to claim all three points for the home side.

Genk currently sit 5th in the Belgian Pro League, with 40 points, and they face Sporting Chaleroi next in an away game.
