Ex-Super Eagles invitee, Gbenga Arokoyo and former Nigerian league star, Chima Akas are on ground to provide a huge boost of affection, bonding and encouragement for their Nigerian colleague, Chidiebere Nwakali at FF Kalmar of Sweden, after the midfielder joined the club last weekend.
Kalmar, whose Nigerian links began long back with Abiola Dauda, are the new base for Nwakali, after receiving him in a two-year deal, with an option for a year’s extension ahead of the new season.
Chidiebere, who was in Nigeria’s victorious Golden Eaglets’ squad at UAE 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup, will hope to gain confidence playing alongside Arokoyo and Akas at Kalmar, who placed 10th last season.
Chidiebere, the older of two Nwakali brothers, is a former Manchester City youth team player, but he became a free agent last summer after he was released by The Citizens.
The 22-year-old midfielder, who has previously played on loan at IK Start of Norway, Sogndal of Sweden and Aberdeen of Scotland, then moved to Rakow Czestochowa of Poland, but cut relations with the team after just two appearance due to pressing family matters.
