An African superstar has written his name into Arsenal’s history books after breaking a 27-year-old Gunners record.
Despite only joining the club in the January transfer window, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finished the campaign as Arsenal’s second best goalscorer in the 2017/18 Premier League campaign.
He scored his side’s only strike in their 1-0 win over Huddersfield on Sunday – Arsene Wenger’s final game in charge – netting his 10th goal since joining Arsenal midway through the season.
In doing so, the African became the fastest player to score 10 Premier League goals for the Gunners, breaking the previous record set by Ian Wright in 1991, as pointed out by Squawka.
Aubameyang needed only 13 games to score 10 Premier League goals, one quicker than Arsenal legend Wright.
