Audio: Lack of continuity, the greatest undoing of NPFL clubs – Pinnick Amaju

Date:

The president of NFF and as well the first Vice president of CAF speaks about the philosophy of NPFL at large.

We need to build up clubs that will have history in the continents, that’s when you can see Nigerian clubs playing in the champions league finals regularly .

Because if we create good policies then clubs would have a stronger base to have what it takes to be in the finals and play in the continents as well.

Looking at the likes of Raja Casablanca, Al-Ahly Fc, these are clubs who have being there for ages with history of consistency in the continents .

Unlike ours, it’s when a Governor likes his state club, the team tends to promote, but when the Governor leaves ,the clubs, it falls back to where it was before, no continuity whatsoever.

Looking at the likes of Governor Lalong who have been exceptional with the growth of Plateau United ,when he leaves sit of power as the executive Governor ,what then happens to Plateau United in terms of support? Which is same thing too, with other Governors.

Looking at such, We want all the government owned football clubs to relinquish shares to the private companies ,let’s them hatch on the ideas of bringing major sponsors to get ownership rights and shares to clubs in Nigeria .

How much will it take to run a club in Nigeria? All i am saying is that the private owners will run the club like an efficient proper business, making profit from sales of players and buying new ones as well maintaining and raising a very good standard in the league.

They can develop strategies on various aspects on how to raise funds, so basically those are the some of the needful we intend to achieve in Nigerian football .

A lot of people might reject these ideology , and we know the reasons, but that is the vision, that is where we are headed too in the federation .
