Awaziem Could Leave FC Porto In January

Date:

FC Porto defender, Chidozie Awaziem is under pressure at the top-flight club ands could be set for another loan exit in January, as he seeks regular playing time elsewhere.

Despite fervid promises from the crew at Porto to give him a look in this term, folllowing his brilliant regular run on loan at FC Nantes of France last season, footballllive.ng learnt that Awaziem has been shut out of the Portuguese club’s first team.

Awaziem’s plight got to a head last weekend, as he was not involved in Sunday’s Primeira League match against Benfica.

The 21-year-old stopper has not played an official match for the highly-rated Portuguese champions this term, and is now said to be weighing his options in the January transfer window.

Another loan spell outside Oporto appears the next plausible step, after Awaziem was an unused substitute for the sixth game in a row across all competitions, of which two were in the UEFA Champions League.

Awaziem had to be farmed out on loan to Nantes for the past campaign after he failed to break into Porto’s first team, and he appears heading in a similar direction at the end of this year.
