Awaziem happy to net maiden Eagles goal

Date:

Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem is over excited after scoring his debut goal for Nigeria in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Seychelles at the Stade Linite on Saturday.

The Super Eagles, who were the better side, put three unreplied goals past the Pirates courtesy of Ahmed Musa, Awaziem and Odion Ighalo.
Awaziem told Footballlive.ng after the match: “This is my Super Eagles goal and I am over the moon. I feel happy and glad to score my first goal for Nigeria. Thanks to God for the goal.”
“It was good though. The condition of the pitch didn’t help matters. We gave our best and won.”
Awaziem picked up an injury in the second half and was replaced by debutant Semi Ajayi. But he was quick to dismiss the severity of the injury.
“I’m fine. It’s not a serious injury. My condition is very stable,” he added.
