Asisat Oshoala has promised that ‘the best is yet to come’ as she confirms there is room for her to improve following a hat-trick show for Nigeria against Equatorial Guinea at the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) on Saturday.
The former Arsenal and Liverpool forward failed to score in the first two matches of the competition, prompting concerns from supporters of the Super Falcons on her form and readiness for the 11th edition of the AWCON.
She replied her critics with a treble against the Nzalang Nacional in Cape Coast on Saturday evening.
Even so, for the FC Robo Queens products, the feeling is that there is more to come.
“The best is yet to come. When the goals wasn’t forthcoming I was very relaxed and patient. What matters is the team’s success,” Oshoala told Footballlive.ng.
“Now I can score more goals and help the team achieve success. It was only a matter of time to be 100 per cent.
“Now everyone sees what I can do. I need to keep working and hopefully there will be more goals.
The Super Falcons will face Cameroon in the semi final of the competition on Tuesday and the forward is already looking forward to the encounter.
“Cameroon have a good team but we aren’t bothered about that. We are concerned about ourselves and want to conquer them on Tuesday. It will be a massive test for us but we would be fine.”
