Awoniyi Attracts Anderlecht, Club Brugge Links

Date:

A brilliant season with Royal Excel Mouscron of Belgium has attracted summer transfer attention for Taiwo Awoniyi from two of the country’s top clubs, RSC Anderlecht and Club Brugge.

Though there had been initial talk about Awoniyi moving to PAOK Saloniki of Greece, the former youth international, who is on loan from Liverpool, may now fancy his chances of staying in Belgium with either Anderlecht or Brugge.

Sources close to the striker say Awoniyi has already shunned interest in his services from PAOK, who are among clubs keen on signing him on loan next season.

Though presently out injured for rest of the season, Awoniyi has emerged as a target for several European teams, thanks to his dazzling display for modest side, Mouscron.

PAOK earlier made contact with the representatives of the forward who scored ten goals in 31 games this season before his injury but the striker want to remain in Belgium.

However, Anderlecht and Club Brugge are now said to be in a two way battle to sign him on loan from Liverpool next season.

He is also eager to join any of the above mentioned team as he has already applied for a Schengen visa for his wife to-be to enable her join him in Belgium.

Along the line, Awoniyi is due to get married to his girlfriend in June as first reported by this portal, and he has already started plans of having her with him in Belgium clearing the way for either Anderlecht or Club Brugge to sign him.
