Awoniyi Comes Under Spotlight Of Chelsea Scouts

Date:

Footballlive.ng can report that Royal Excel Mouscron of Belgium attacker, Taiwo Awoniyi has inadvertently come under the spotlight of Chelsea’s top scouts, as egg heads from Stamford Bridge keep turning up to watch his club’s matches.

Reports out of Belgium indicate that Awoniyi, who is on loan at Mouscron from Liverpool of England, has come under the scrutiny of their English Premier League rivals, as The Blues’ experts have become regular at his matches in their efforts to monitor his teammate, Marcel Benson.

While the focus is meant to be on Awoniyi’s 21 year-old teammate, the former youth international has set tongues wagging as well, considering his burst of goals since arriving for the second half of the season.

Dramatically, Awoniyi scored last weekend against KAA Gent, the club he played for in the first half of the season, but could not convince them of a regular starting role with their squad.

Dramatically, while Chelsea are said to be chasing Awoniyi’s teammate at Mouscron, the youthful midfielder, who is also attracting Inter Milan of Italy and AS Monaco of France, is actually on loan from Gent.

While Awoniyi now has three goals since his arrival in January, Benson has produced four goals and six assists so far, thereby creating a double-talking point for Chelsea’s scouts, who have been regularly spotted at Mouscron’s games to see the youngsters in action.
