Former youth international striker, Taiwo Awoniyi appears inching closer to a deal in Turkey, as he has been left out of winter training camp at KAA Gent of Belgium.
Footballlive.ng reports that, barely a week after Awoniyi was rated the biggest disappointment at Gent so far this season, the lad on loan from Liverpool of England got a huge shut-out by the team’s technical crew.
While all key players in the squad wrre included in the roster for their trip to Spain for the mid-season tour, Awoniyi was left out of the trip.
The report further states that Awoniyi will now have to decide in this transfer window whether to continue on loan at Gent or move on.
The poser comes for Awoniyi, who has previously starred on loan from Liverpool at FSV Frankfurt of Germany, NEC Nijmegen of Holland and Royal Excel Mouscron of Belgium, after he struggled to impress halfway through the season with Gent.
However, it might not be all gloom for him, as reports indicate that a firm offer has emerged from Turkey for the 21-year-old product of Imperial Football Academy, Odogbolu, Ogun State.
