Former youth international, Taiwo Awoniyi is heading back to Royal Excel Mouscron of Belgium, following a deal his parent club, Liverpool reached with the team he played for last season.
Footballlive.ng gathered that Liverpool reckoned Awoniyi would be able to pick up his floundering season back at Mouscron, following a pathetic first half of the campaign with another Belgian club, KAA Gent.
The report out of Belgium adds that Awoniyi, who has also previously played on loan from Liverpool at FSV Frankfurt of Germany and NEC Nijmegen of Holland, is already back at Mouscron for the rest of the season.
Awoniyi started the current season at Gent but his loan deal was last week cut off by Liverpool, following the striker’s inability to get regular playing time with at The Buffalos.
During his time at Gent, Awoniyi managed only five starts from 21 in the Belgian top-flight and just three goals in 22 appearances across all competitions.
That was a stark contrast to the glory days he enjoyed the previous campaign at Mouscron, where he had 10 goals and seven assists in 31 games.
