Babatunde In Enugu To Relaunch Eagles’ Career

Date:

Wydad Casablanca of Morocco midfielder, Michael Babatunde will hope to use the opportunity of Saturday’s CAF Champions League clash against Lobi Stars to play himself back into the Super Eagles.

With Eagles’ coach, Gernot Rohr set to watch the match at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, Babatunde will love to daze Lobi Stars in a bid to get the gaffer’s nod and relaunch his national team career.

Footballlive.ng reports further that Babatunde, who has not played for Nigeria since his solid performance in a 3-2 loss to Argentina at Brazil 2014 World Cup, aims to replicate the top form he is currently showing with Wydad in the Moroccan domestic league.

Babatunde, though, declared the match is not just about him alone and his personal aspirations, as he says the focus is on a collective effort by all Wydad players to get the desired victory.

He stressed that they are in Enugu with the aim of picking maximum points against their hosts.

Babatunde added: “It’s going to be an emotional game for me no doubt because I will be playing in my country.

“We have seen what they are capable of and I’m confident we can overcome them and return to Morocco with all three points.”
