Brighton Hove Albion new signing, Leon Aderemi Balogun has admitted he is in for a tough battle to claim a regular stating shirt with The Seagulls, as he acknowledges the presence of other top defenders in the team.
The former SV Mainz of Germany stopper, who started all the games played by the Super Eagles at the World Cup, is competing with Lewis Dunk and Shane Duffy for one of Brighton’s central defensive positions in the new season.
Balogun confessed that both defenders are quite formidable, but believes he could also find a place in the squad through dint of hard work and determination.
”I’ve come into a side where the two central defenders did very well last year – I just have to do my best, work hard and then you hope it’s enough.
”I can’t come in and say I’ve played in the World Cup and I should start – it has to be about me earning a place in the team,@ Balogun stated.
