Brighton & Hove Albion of England defender, Leon Aderemi Balogun has disclosed that he has turned his attention fully on Wednesday’s English Premier League clash with Arsenal.
Althoguh the former SV Mainz of Germany stopper, who is promised for his third straight start with Brighton, admitted last weekend’s 2-0 loss to Bournemouth was frustrating, he says The Seagulls are now thinking only of their Boxing Day clash.
Footballlive.ng reports that Balogun’s side will be at home against The Gunners, who will storm the venue with a renewed spirit, following their 3-1 win against Burnley on Saturday, but the Super Eagles star is staying upbeat for victory against The Gunners.
Balogun kept his place in The Seagulls’ starting line-up, but could not do anything to stop David Brooks from scoring both goals of the game to condemn Brighton to their ninth defeat of the campaign.
Though he initially struggled for regular playing time at Brighton, after his summer arrival from Mainz, Balogun has featured in the club’s last four games as a result of Shane Duffy’s suspension.
The 30-year-old Super Eagles stopper will now get another chance to stake claim for a regular berth in the team against Arsenal with Dunk suspended for the game.
Balogun, who has made seven Premier League appearances for Brighton this season, with a goal to show for his efforts, said his focus is now on the Boxing Day fixture against Arsenal.
“Tough game away from home with a frustrating outcome. We go again on Wednesday ????⚪️ #BHAFC #Seagulls,” Balogun tweeted.
