Nigeria Premier Football League side Bayelsa United has announced the signing of former Flying Eagles captain, Daniel Bameyi.
The move was facilitated by newly appointed Bayelsa United head coach, Ladan Bosso, who previously coached Bameyi during his time with the Flying Eagles.
The 18-year-old defender gained prominence after captaining Nigeria’s U-20 team to the quarterfinals of the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina and a third-place finish at the U-20 AFCON.
Following his stint with the Nigeria Football Federation, Ladan Bosso has returned to domestic football with Bayelsa United, the 2009 Nigerian Premier League champions.
Bameyi, who is joining from Yum Yum FC, brings versatility and valuable experience as Bayelsa United looks to strengthen their squad for the upcoming NPFL season after narrowly avoiding relegation last season.
