English League One club Crawley Town have completed the signing of Nigerian defender Benjamin Tanimu from Tanzanian Premier League side Singida Black Stars.
Tanimu has penned a two-year contract with Crawley Town, with an option for an additional year.
This move represents a significant milestone in Tanimu’s career as he shifts from the Tanzanian Premier League to English football.
Singida Black Stars confirmed the transfer on Friday, stating, “Our club has entered into an agreement with Crawley Town FC, a UK club participating in League One, to sell our Nigerian player Benjamin Tanimu.
The agreement includes a direct transfer fee and a 20% sell-on clause, with the total package estimated at no less than $850,000.”
The Red Devils reportedly secured the 22-year-old’s services for a transfer fee of $850,000.
The former Bendel Insurance player, who has been capped three times by Nigeria, is expected to bolster the club’s defensive line.
