Abia Warriors’ head coach, Bethel Orji, has expressed his delight after guiding his team to the semi-finals of the Federation Cup for the first time in his career. The Warriors secured their place in the last four with a dramatic 5-4 penalty shootout victory over Sokoto United.
Orji, reflecting on the achievement, emphasized the importance of every match and credited divine intervention for their success. “No match is easy. Every match is very important. To God be the glory, at the end of this game, we were able to come out on top,” Orji said. “I feel great as a coach. This is the first time I’ve led a team to the semi-finals in my career, and it’s an honor. I pray to God to reach the finals.”
The semi-final pairings will see Abia Warriors face Kano Pillars, as two NNL and NPFL teams respectively vie for the coveted prize in the ongoing 2024 President Federation Cup.
