Katsina United technical adviser, Abdullahi Biffo has disclosed that the biggest challenge he is now facing after 17 days in the den of kidnappers is to save himself from going blind in one eye.
Footballlive.ng gathered that this is because the former Niger Tornadoes of Minna coach’s eyes were covered with a dark cloth for several days by the kidnappers, which has left him with visual problems.
Biffo moved to Kano for routine medical checks, following reports that he was released by the kidnappers after they collected a ransom of N5m from the management of Katsina United.
He thanked all Nigerians for standing by him during the scary spell, with his profound gratitude going to Katsina State government, management of Katsina United, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Nigerian Football Coaches Association, among many others.
Biffo added: “I was at the hospital for several tests, but I thank God for everything. The only problem I have is with my eye.
“I was also diagnosed with typhoid fever, because of what I was eating and drinking (while with the kidnappers).
“One opf my eyes is red now (but) I want to use this medium to thank all Nigerians for their support.”
