Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee has expressed his keen interest in donning the green and white colors of Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the near future.
Born in the Netherlands to a Dutch father and a Nigerian mother, the 22-year-old is eligible to represent Nigeria through his parentage.
Despite currently representing the Netherlands U21s and acknowledging the stiff competition, particularly in the attacking department, Zirkzee emphasized that choosing Nigeria should not be merely due to the absence of an opportunity with his homeland.
With talents like Boniface from Leverkusen and Osimhen from Napoli in the Nigerian squad, Zirkzee remains open to the possibility and hopes for the opportunity to contribute to the Super Eagles’ success.
