Arsenal took an early lead in the eighth minute when Oleksandr Zinchenko rifled home Kai Havertz’s cutback from the edge of the area.
Leverkusen found themselves two goals down less than a minute later, as Leandro Trossard punished them for a defensive error with a composed finish.
The Gunners extended their lead seven minutes before halftime when Gabriel Jesus capitalized on another Leverkusen mistake, with his long-range effort slipping past goalkeeper Matej Kovar.
Leverkusen managed to pull one back through Adam Hlozek, who finished off a fine move with a delicate chip over Arsenal’s David Raya.
Arsenal will now focus on their final pre-season fixture against Lyon on Sunday before their Premier League opener against Wolves.
Bayer Leverkusen, who completed an unbeaten domestic season in 2023-24, will compete for their first silverware of the new campaign in 10 days against VfB Stuttgart in the DFL-Supercup.
