In a stunning display of attacking prowess, Bayer Leverkusen secured a dominant 5-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt at the Deutsche Bank Park.
The visitors wasted no time asserting their dominance, as Granit Xhaka found the back of the net with a powerful strike from the edge of the area in the 12th minute, assisted by Adam Hlozek. However, Frankfurt quickly responded, with Hugo Ekitike leveling the score at 1-1 in the 32nd minute, courtesy of an assist from Farès Chaïbi.
Undeterred by Frankfurt’s equalizer, Leverkusen regained the lead just before halftime, as Patrick Schick capitalized on a well-worked move to make it 2-1 in the 44th minute, once again assisted by Adam Hlozek.
After the break, Leverkusen continued to dominate proceedings, extending their lead further with a goal from Exequiel Palacios, who calmly converted from the penalty spot in the 58th minute, after Nathan Tella was brought down in the box.
As the game progressed, Leverkusen’s relentless attacking continued to pay dividends, with Jeremie Frimpong getting on the scoresheet in the 77th minute, with Adam Hlozek providing his third assist of the match.
Frimpong was instrumental once again in the dying moments of the game, winning a penalty in the 87th minute, which was expertly dispatched by substitute Victor Boniface, securing his 12th league goal of the season and sealing Leverkusen’s emphatic 5-1 victory.
With this impressive win, Bayer Leverkusen has now matched Benfica’s historic unbeaten run of 48 games from 1965, further solidifying their status as one of the most formidable teams in European football.
