French Ligue 1 side Girondins Bordeaux have agreed a deal in principle with KAA Gent to sign tricky lad Samuel Kalu.
The 20-year-old, who prefers to play at right wing, has a €8m release clause in his contract and Bordeaux have now met that figure.
The Les Girondins have identified the 20-year-old winger as the perfect replacement for Malcolm who recently made a dream move to Barcelona.
The deal is set to go through, subject to documentation being completed.
“We inform you that we an agreement have been found, subject to the signature of all administrative documents with KAA Gent for the transfer of Samuel Kalu,” the club stated via their official Facebook page.
Kalu struck league goals in 32 appearances for KAA Gent last season in the Belgian top flight. He joined Gent from AS Trencin in 2016.
He caught the eye of Bordeaux manager Gustavo Poyet with a series of sublime and athletic performances that helped KAA Gent finish fourth in the Belgian Pro League last season.
