So soon after expressing his desire for a return to the English Premier League, CSKA Moscow of Russia star, Ahmed Musa is said to have caught the attention of Brighton Hove Albion.
Information on offer from Queensland indicates that Musa, who is currently on loan at CSKA from former English Premier League champions, Leicester City, is under the radar of Brighton for a summer transfer deal.
It was further gathered that Brighton have been tracking Musa for some time, and were even close to signing him on loan from Leicester in January, before he decided on a return to CSKA.
Back in Moscow, the 25-year-old star has regained the form that made Leicester splash 16m euros on him with five league goals to his name from just nine games.
In the Russian Cup, Musa has a goal to his name, same as in the Europa League, where the former Kano Pillars and VV Van Venlo of Holland fleet-footed attacker played six games.
Musa is among the few players who are almost certain to make the squad of Nigeria for the World Cup in Russia, which could delay a decision on his future, in order to get a fatter deal should he shine at the Mundial.
However, Brighton have been impressed with his performance and they are hoping to thrash out a deal that could see him return to the Premier League at the end of his loan deal at CSKA.
This follows reports that Musa has again turned down an opportunity of joining either two foremost clubs in the Turkish Super Lig, Galatasaray or Fenerbahce, as he prefers to try his options again in England.
Though he faced a rather torrid and nightmarish stint at former English Premier League champions, Leicester City, from where he returned to CSKA on Loan in January, Musa is of a view that he could make a better impression with a better deal in England.
The chances of Musa returning to Leicester are in doubt, though, with various reports indicating that he is looking elsewhere, following feelers that The Foxes want to offload him this summer.
The £16m star made just one appearance for Leicester between August and January, in the Carabao Cup victory at Sheffield United, and only once featured in a Premier League squad.
Since returning to CSKA, Musa has started all their matches in domestic competitions and the Europa League, scoring four goals.
After a run of three goals and two assists in his last three outings, Musa reportedly hinted that he has no intentions of returning to King Power Stadium.
Similarly, a Ukrainian agent, Sandor Varga recently said CSKA want to keep Musa on a permanent basis in the summer transfer window.
However, with Musa valued in the region of 13.5 million pounds, The Armymen will have to break their transfer record to sign the attacker.
