Bruno Labbadia Releases First Super Eagles Squad

Date:

Newly appointed Super Eagles head coach, Bruno Labbadia, has released his first squad list just hours after his appointment on Tuesday.

The list features key returns, including Victor Osimhen and vice-captain William Troost-Ekong, as Nigeria prepares for crucial Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 qualifiers.

Both Osimhen and Troost-Ekong were absent in the last international break due to injuries, but are now fit to rejoin the squad. Troost-Ekong had been recovering from a season-ending injury, while Osimhen was sidelined after a recent injury with Napoli.

The squad also sees the return of Nottingham Forest duo Taiwo Awoniyi and Ola Aina, both of whom were sidelined by injuries in previous fixtures.

Bruno Labbadia intent to bounce back from the disappointment of Nigeria’s recent World Cup qualifiers.
