Arsenal of England youth team winger Bukayo Saka is set to sign his first professional contract with The Gunners, where he was named a scholar only in June.
So soon after his youth team elevation at Emirates Stadium, London and debut as an England under-18 international, Saka is now set to put pen to paper on a proper contract after the international break.
The development comes just 24 hours after Saka made his debut with England’s U18s in a 3-0 friendly win against Holland in France.
It also comes after an earlier development at the end of June, when Arsenal stated that Saka and another Nigerian, Ryan Alebiousu, had signed as scholars from the start of the 2018-2019 season.
Last season, Saka, who can also be deployed at left back and right back, two roles he plays for England, was a prominent fixture for The Gunners’ youth team, playing 25 games in all competitions and scoring ten goals, with six in the U18 Premier League.
