Golden Eaglets head coach Manu Garba has expressed frustration over his team’s inadequate preparation following a 0-0 draw against Burkina Faso in their opening match of the WAFU B U-17 Championship on Thursday night at the University Stadium.
The Eaglets were unable to break through Burkina Faso’s solid defense despite dominating the game. Garba blamed the team’s underwhelming performance on their lack of proper preparation.
“The match against Burkina Faso was only the first international game by the team,” Garba said post-match. “Burkina Faso were better prepared than us. They went on a playing tour, just like Ghana. But hopefully we will get better as the tournament progresses.”
The Golden Eaglets are set to face Niger Republic in their next game on Sunday, aiming to improve their performance and secure a win.
