CAF CC: Enugu Rangers face tricky ties to Tunisia in Confederations Cup group stage

Nigeria’s sole CAF Confederations Cup campaigners Enugu Rangers will face CS Sfaxien of Tunisia, Etoile Du Sahel also of Tunisia and Salitas of Burkina Faso in group B of the competition in the draw conducted today at the CAF headquarters in Cairo.

The Flying Antelopes so far are unbeaten in six games in the competition winning five with just a draw. The Enugu based outfit defeated Defence Force of Ethiopia in the preliminary stage before dumping out USM Bel Abbes of Algeria in the first round stage and recently beating Bantu FC of Lesotho in the group stage playoffs to qualify to the group stage.

The draw conducted at the CAF headquarters in Cairo will see Hassania US Agadir of Morocco slug it out with AS Otoho d’Oyo of Congo, RS Berkane of Morocco and Raja Cassablanca of Morocco for a quarter final spot in group A while group C has giants Zesco United of Zambia, Al Hilal of Sudan, Asante Kotoko of Ghana and Nkana FC of Zambia fight for quarter final spots.

Group D will see CAF champions’ league drop outs Gor Mahia of Kenya play Na Hussien Dey of Algeria, Atletico Petroleos of Angola and Zamalek of Egypt fight for the quarter final qualification.

The Gbenga Ogunbote led team qualified for the CAF Confederations Cup after beating Kano Pillars in the final of the 2018 Aiteo Cup at the Stephen Keshi stadium in Asaba.
