Enyimba shot to the top of Group C in the CAF Confederation Cup following a narrow 1-0 win against Williamsville AC on Wednesday at the Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium in Port Harcourt.
Forward, Ibrahim Mustapha scored early, inside the opening seven minutes of the game in a scrappy encounter, but sent the People’s Elephant to the top of the group – at least until the other group game.
The win ensured the Nigerian club retuned to winning ways after a 3-0 bashing in Congo at the hands of CARA Brazzaville.
Enyimba parted company with their Head Coach, Paul Aigbogun, but have stuck with his backroom in the hope to keep some level of consistency.
Williamsville AC will host Enyimba in the second-leg on July 29 at the Stade Robert Champroux in Abidjan.
