The head coach of Rwanda club, Rayon Sport, Roberto Oliviera insists his side are better than Enyimba International of Aba, despite their inability to beat the visiting Nigerian side during the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals.
Oliviera, who footballlive.ng learnt is fondly called ‘Robertinho,’ said Rayon Sport were the better side in the first leg goalless draw last Sunday in Kigali, but admits Enyimba’s goalkeeper, Theophilus Afelokhai was marvellous during the game.
Heading into this weekend’s reverse fixture at the refurbished Enyimba Stadium in Aba, the Brazilian gaffer is now talking tough about snatching an away win that should take his side into the semi-finals.
Oliveira insists Rayon Sport are capable of beating their hosts in The City of Elephants on Sunday, in the return-leg of their CAF Confederation Cup last eight tie.
Both sides are in the quarter-finals of the continent’s second-tier club competition for the first time, but Oliviera admits it will be another tough fixture for his side to overcome.
He said: “It was a very difficult game. They played long balls while we maintained our ball possession football.
“Overall we were the better side, but their defence and goalie were solid. It’s now time to go back to the drawing board and prepare for the return-leg.
“We will push to score goals and win the game, and we have proved we can score and win matches on foreign soil.
“I have confidence in my players, and the coaching staff. We want to register further history and we will do all we can to achieve it. Thankfully we didn’t concede on Sunday.”
