Super Eagles and Fulham defender, Calvin Bassey is confident that the team can secure all three points when they face South Africa in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Uyo on Friday.
In an interview with Brila.net, Bassey highlighted the familiarity between the coach and the players as a key advantage.
“There’s a few new faces, but I think coach Finidi has been with us for the last two years, so he’s used to us and he understands how we play and our strengths and areas we can improve on, so I think it’s good,” Bassey said.
Calvin Bassey also noted the challenge South Africa presents. “We know how good South Africa are. They’re a strong team. The manager has set us up to stop them from taking advantage in certain areas,” he explained.
“We’re going to go out there, perform his game plan, and hopefully we win,” Bassey added.
