Lobi Stars CEO, Mike Idoko, has pleaded with soccer fans in Benue state not to be deterred but continue to pray for the team despite missing the opportunity to watch this year’s CAF Champions League at their domain.
Idoko, who promised to reward the teeming fans made the appeal on Friday while speaking to Sports Yarn Class (SYC).
Idoko’s reaction followed the worries being expressed by the home fans who felt neglected by not seeing Lobi Stars play against their opponents after the club’s recent decision to play their games in Enugu.
“It was very painful. We got the change of venue very late. At 8pm our players left Makurdi to Enugu for the game,” he said.
“We were able to make provisions for some of our supporters that came for the game.”
“I can’t also forget the way Enugu FA Chairman Mr Chidi Ofor treated us. He made necessary plans to make us feel at home.
“We are grateful to those who made the game successful for us.”
“Next time we are going to make buses available for our supporters to Enugu for the next round and also get to the group stage.”
“It’s not Lobi Stars of Makurdi but Lobi Stars of Nigeria. Our priority is to ensure we picks more points in order to have more Nigerian teams on the continent.”
