Nigerian sprinter, Chidi Okezie has achieved a remarkable feat by securing his place at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games with a record breaking performance in the men’s 400m event at the Edmonton Athletics Invitational.
Clocking a new Personal Best (PB) of 44.97 seconds, Chidi Okezie crossed the finish line ahead of his competitors, including Wil London III of the United States, who finished second with a time of 45.55s.
DaeQwan Butler, also from the United States, shared third place with the same time.
Breaking the 45-second barrier for the first time in his career is a proud moment for Nigeria as the 30 year-old sprinter prepares to represent his country on the global stage in Paris.
