Chievo Verona of Italy have unveiled Super Eagles midfielder, Joel Chukwuma Obi as their latest summer signing, after reaching a agreement for his exit from Serie A rivals, AS Torino.
The Flying Donkeys, who once paid the wages of Victor Obinna Nsofor and Stephen Ayodele Makinwa, announced their signing of Obi on Sunday, in a three-year contract, with an option for a further season.
Obi was highly sought after by some other Italian clubs in the summer transfer window, because he is classed as a home grown player as he was first registered by Inter Milan in 2005 at the age of fourteen.
He made his professional debut for Inter in their 4-0 win over Werder Bremen of Germany in September 2010, but spent the 2013-14 season on loan at Parma.
Obi, who cut ties with The Nerazzurri in the summer of 2015 after joining Torino, will don jersey number 22 at Chievo Verona.
The injury-prone dazzler, who has also played for AC Parma, arrives with a lofty record of 110 games in Serie A, eight in the UEFA Champions League and six in the Europa League.
